Director of Operations
FORT WAYNE URBAN LEAGUE, INC, FORT WAYNE, INDIANA

OVERVIEW:

Director of Operations ensures the coordination and implementation of Fort Wayne Urban League programs and administrative operations.  This role reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer of the Fort Wayne Urban League.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Translates the strategic plan and goals of the Fort Wayne Urban League in a clear and measurable action plan.

  • Collaborates with the CEO and the Board of Directors to ensure Annual Budget alignment.

  • Reviews progress of the strategic plan, conducts gap analysis, provides monthly updates to the CEO and/or Board of Directors.

  • Investigates new and more effective uses of technology and software to accomplish Program and Administration.

  • Assists the CEO with concepts, ideas, and implementation strategies for the work environment.

  • Develop marketing and outreach plans for all programmatic areas.

  • Develop and implement fundraising activities and special events.

  • Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with corporate partners and community groups.

  • Create profitability through the expansion of corporate partner base.

  • Manage and oversee all health equity initiatives to ensure compliance with local and national grants and contracts.

  • Identify grant opportunities and secure funding to sustain initiatives and programs aligned with Fort Wayne Urban League’s missions and goals.

  • Research, create, implement, and lead programs for youth through adults that meet the mission and purpose of the Fort Wayne Urban League including education, youth development and family engagement.

  • Recruit, hire, train, develop, schedule and direct personnel and volunteers as needed.

  • Develop strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.

  • Maintain adequate records to evaluate, control, and measure the effectiveness of the assigned areas of responsibility.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Social Sciences, or related field and at least 5 years’ successful leadership experience at a social impact or nonprofit organization.

  • Five plus years in program development preferable in a nonprofit sector.

  • Grant/proposal writing experience

  • Experience with government and community relations

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to foster new and maintain long standing business and community relationships.

  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities in an effective and efficient manner.

  • Expert problem solver, analytical thinker, and decision maker.

  • Strong leadership skills and business acumen.

  • Must have a valid state driver’s license and be able to pass background check and drug screening.
